Setup guide

Get started with SweepsGrab

Set up your alert view and browser controls, then leave Chrome open so new alerts can reach SweepsGrab.

Set up your extension

  1. Install SweepsGrab

Open the Chrome Web Store listing and add SweepsGrab to Chrome.

  2. Open the popup

Open SweepsGrab from Chrome’s extension controls to see your recent alerts. On the welcome screen, choose Understood to continue; the extension badge shows alerts that still need attention.

  3. Check desktop notifications

Open the bell button, labelled Alert settings, and check Windows notifications. This setting is on by default and uses Chrome desktop notifications; turning it off keeps alerts in SweepsGrab without desktop popups.

  4. Choose your popup filter

Choose All, Needs attention, or Completed above the alerts. All is the default, and SweepsGrab remembers your choice locally for the next time you open the popup.

  5. Decide how to handle inactive alerts

In the gear button’s Global Settings, Mark inactive alerts missed after 24 hours is on by default. It moves inactive Needs attention alerts to Completed as Missed; opening, retrying, or receiving a claim update restarts the timer. Turn this setting off if you want to keep those alerts needing attention until you mark them yourself.

  6. Optional: add a saved login

Open the key button, Saved logins, choose Add saved login, and read the consent screen before choosing I agree. Fill saved logins and Auto-submit after filling both start off; saving a new login turns both on, and you can turn either off afterwards. Logins are encrypted in this browser on this device and used only on matching HTTPS sites SweepsGrab opened for an alert; read the Privacy Policy and saved-logins FAQ before adding one.

Saved login controls

Under Encryption and locking, Encryption mode offers Device key or optional Passphrase. Passphrase mode locks when the background goes to sleep or Chrome restarts; return to Saved logins to unlock it, and keep your passphrase because it cannot be recovered.

Use an entry’s Delete button or Delete all saved logins whenever you want to remove them.

Not getting alerts?

  • Leave Chrome open. The extension checks for new alerts while Chrome is running.
  • Check the notification toggle. In Alert Settings, turn on Windows notifications if you want desktop popups.
  • Show the full inbox. Select All and clear Search alerts... so a filter or search does not hide an alert.
  • Review Site Filters. Open Alert Settings → Site Filters: an Allowed Sites list limits which alerts appear, and Blocked Sites hides matching future alerts.
  • Check for an update. Open Global Settings → Force Check to request a feed check, then review the popup status. If an alert needs your action, choose Open to open it without auto-grab, or Retry in its actions menu to try auto-grab again.
